Christ Church 75th Anniversary
The Church celebrated it's 75 years of witness in the Petts Wood community since that first meeting in Kay’s Pantry tearoom, Petts Wood Road in April 1939, we hosted a series of events in April/May 2014.
Saturday 26 April 201475th Anniversary Marvalus Tea for those of advanced years (but young in heart!) in the Kingsbury Hall from 3pm to 5pm.
Sunday 27 April 201475th Anniversary Messy Church for children of all ages in the Kingsbury Hall and Church from 4pm to 6pm
Saturday/Sunday 3/4 May 2014Christ Church Open House- with a chance for community groups who use our premises to showcase their activities, photographic exhibitions, floral displays and a collection of 75 artefacts nominated by members past and present which to them, are synonymous with Christ Church.
Saturday 10 May 7.30pm 201475th Anniversary Concert featuring choirs, orchestra and guest artists. Hopefully this will feature many musicians from the past who have returned for this special weekend.
Sunday 11 May 10.30 201475th Anniversary Service conducted by our Minister Revd. Pauline Sparks and with guest preacher Revd. Dr. Michael Jaggesar the Moderator of the General Assembly of the URC. This will be followed by coffee, a buffet lunch, a few short speeches and a chance to meet up with old friends and view the exhibitions. At 4pm the celebrations will conclude with a communion service in the Church and a time for quiet reflection on the good things of the past and on the exciting challenges of the future.
There will also be a book ‘Christ Church- The first 75 years’ which will be available for purchase from the beginning of April. We look forward to welcoming many friends old and new and those in the local community who might be curious about the Church on the corner of Willet Way and Tudor Way.
